Vlog #21
The day we sailed into Turtle Bay from Ensenada was gorgeous and hot. So nice, that Trav finally went for a swim by his own choice (not diving in in the middle of the ocean to cut crab pot lines off)
The next day the wind started picking up and was really uncomfortable and rolly on the boat. It was expected to be 20 knots of wind, which is shitty but we’d be ok.
It just kept getting more and more windy and we stayed up all night taking shifts sleeping to keep watch and make sure our anchor didn’t drag or break.
The whole bow was smashing into the water and totally submerging.
It was pouring rain and we had a leak in the boat so the interior got completely soaked as well.
In the morning everyone was discussing on the radio and one guy said he clocked 52 knots of wind the night before, which almost 100kms.
It was really stressful and scary, but we are so thankful our anchor held and everything turned out fine!
