Installing AIS & VHF Before Our Pacific Crossing Episode 496
In this episode we install an AIS transponder and VHF radio on Catalpa — one of the most important safety upgrades we've done, especially with our Pacific crossing coming up.
AIS lets us see other vessels around us (and lets them see us) day or night, in fog, and out in shipping lanes where it really matters. We walk through the whole install so you can do it yourself.
