We Had to Leave Our Anchorage | Sailing Our Lagoon 42 in Greece

We leave Ithaca aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42, and sail through the Ionian towards Kastos.
Before we even get going, the day starts strangely when a bee crawls into the straw of my water bottle and stings me on the tongue.

With lighter winds forecast, we rig the Code Zero and get a beautiful sailing day before settling into an anchorage with stern lines ashore. But at 5am, in complete darkness, strong gusts start pushing Bluefish sideways and we decide to leave before conditions get worse.
Later, after moving again to find better holding, smoke begins rising from nearby Kalamos as firefighting helicopters and planes arrive to tackle a wildfire.
A bee sting, a great sail, an early-morning move and changing conditions around Kastos — another few days of full-time boat life in the Ionian.

⛵ Welcome aboard Bluefish
We’re Fredrik, Laura, Lucas and Noa. We sold everything and moved aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42 catamaran, because we believe life is meant to be lived before it’s too late.
Now we sail the Mediterranean full-time, sharing life aboard with teenagers — sailing, anchorages, boat systems, fishing, foiling, photography and the places we discover along the way.
