After a few busy days in London, we are back aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42, and back to full-time boat life in Greece. We leave Lefkada and sail through the Ionian Islands towards Mytikas, Kastos and eventually Vathy on Ithaca — settling back into the simple rhythm that made us choose this life in the first place.
Once the engines are off, everything goes quiet again. Just the boat moving through the water, Noa setting up his fishing gear, and all of us settling back into life at sea.
In Mytikas, we find a place to anchor among the other boats, head ashore for a much-needed supermarket shop, and spend a quiet night before moving on again.
From there, we sail our Lagoon 42 to Kastos and return to an anchorage we have used before. It takes a little more work, with stern lines to shore, but once Bluefish is secure we settle in for a couple of days of swimming, paddleboarding and exploring one of the caves along the coast by dinghy.
With the weather changing, we eventually leave Kastos and sail across to Vathy on Ithaca.
There are no huge passages or major events in this episode — and that is really the point.
Some of the best days living on a boat are the ones where very little happens. We sail for an hour, find somewhere to anchor, swim, explore, eat together and do it all again somewhere new.
