We continue our family boat life in Greece, sailing Bluefish, our Lagoon 42 catamaran, around Kefalonia and across to Ithaca. This week brings some of the best sailing we’ve had for a while, beautiful anchorages, foiling, snorkelling and plenty of time in the water.
After leaving Argostoli, we make a short sail to Spartia Beach before continuing around the south of Kefalonia. With good downwind conditions and around 15 knots of wind, Bluefish gets moving and Lucas takes a turn at the helm.
The next morning we head north towards Ithaca, fishing and getting our stern lines ready along the way. Once anchored, we spend the afternoon pump foiling, swimming and snorkelling around freshwater springs coming up through the seabed.
Then something rather unusual turns up across the bay.
The next morning we take the dinghy across for a closer look at Olivia O — an 88.5-metre explorer yacht and the first yacht built using Ulstein’s distinctive X-BOW design.
Then it’s back to Bluefish for another afternoon in the water, dinner aboard and the end of another day living at anchor in the Ionian.
This is our life aboard Bluefish — sailing when there’s wind, moving when we feel like it, exploring what’s around us and slowly making our way through Greece as a family.
We’re Sailing Bluefish — Fredrik from Sweden, Laura from the UK, and our two New Zealand-born boys Lucas & Noa, living full-time aboard our Lagoon 42 catamaran in the Mediterranean.
Thanks for watching — it means a lot to us.
