Sailing the Greek Islands: Wrecks, History & Catacombs

We sail from Despotiko towards Polyaigos and Milos aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42 catamaran, continuing our family sailing season through the Greek islands.

After a short stop at Polyaigos, we head for Milos — an island with volcanic coastlines, clear water, shipwrecks, ancient history, and some of the most interesting places we have visited in the Cyclades.

After a short stop at Polyaigos, we head for Milos — an island with volcanic coastlines, clear water, shipwrecks, ancient history, and some of the most interesting places we have visited in the Cyclades.

We stop at Sarakiniko, snorkel the Africa shipwreck, and then arrive into Milos, where Lucas and I set off to explore by dinghy and on foot.

From the seaside catacombs near Klima, we walk up to the ancient theatre of Milos, visit the place where the Venus de Milo was discovered, and then continue to the Catacombs of Milos — one of the most important early Christian burial sites in Greece.

This episode is a mix of sailing, anchoring, wreck snorkeling, volcanic coastline, ancient history, and real family boat life aboard a Lagoon 42 in Greece.

We’re Sailing Bluefish — Fredrik from Sweden, Laura from the UK, and our two New Zealand-born boys Lucas & Noa, living full-time aboard our Lagoon 42 catamaran in the Mediterranean.

Thanks for watching — it means a lot to us.
