After leaving Zakynthos, we start working our way north through the Ionian Islands aboard Bluefish, our Lagoon 42 catamaran.
This week is not about big sailing days — it is more about the normal rhythm of cruising life in Greece. Short hops, quiet anchorages, hot days, swim stops, stern lines, rain showers, refuelling, and finally checking into Lefkas Marina.
Our first stop is Skala Beach on Kefalonia, before heading across to one of our favourite Ionian islands — Ithaca. We find a tight anchorage, set stern lines for the first time this season, and settle into a few slower days surrounded by green mountains and clear water.
From there, we continue north towards Pogonia, stopping the boat in the middle of the sea for a swim before anchoring in one of those places we keep coming back to. After a few days there, it is time to get Bluefish ready for marina mode again — fenders, mooring lines, fuel, and a berth in Lefkas Marina before we leave the boat for a few days.
This is the quieter side of full-time boat life in the Mediterranean — not just sailing, but all the small moves and routines that make up the journey.
