Real Boat Life in Greece | Sailing Our Lagoon 42 Around Kefalonia
We sail our Lagoon 42 around Kefalonia in Greece, moving from Ithaca to Argostoli and Xi Beach as we settle into the everyday rhythm of full-time boat life in the Ionian Islands — including a morning thunderstorm with lightning surrounding the anchorage.
This week is less about big passages and more about what living aboard actually looks like.
In Argostoli, we restock the boat, visit the chandlery and spend some time around town before moving Bluefish out to Xi Beach.
There are always jobs to do. We top up the diesel from jerry cans, fill the dinghy, troubleshoot the generator and air conditioning after a shutdown, clean pumps, dive on the seawater inlets and run the watermaker.
And then there is everything in between.
Noa makes pancakes. Lucas draws and paints in his cabin. We see turtles in Argostoli, play basketball, swim, read, play guitar and get out on the water for some pump foiling and wingfoiling.
One morning we wake to thunder, heavy rain and lightning around Bluefish. Then the weather passes and life aboard carries on.
That is really what this episode is about.
Living full-time on a catamaran with two teenage boys — moving when we need to, fixing what needs fixing, watching the weather and enjoying the slow moments in between.
