We left everything behind to cross the Pacific Ocean with our kids.
After weeks of waiting in Panama, we finally set sail — but the reality of life offshore hit fast. From losing wind and navigating shifting conditions, to gear failures and constant decision-making, this passage tested us in ways we didn’t expect.
But in the middle of it all, there were moments that reminded us exactly why we chose this life — catching fish together, crossing the equator, and finally seeing land again in the Galápagos.
This is what it really looks like to sail across the ocean as a family.
