Part 2 of our 1200 mile nonstop Crossing of the Caribbean Sea from Guadeloupe to Panama. With a strong wind forecast for the remainder of this trip we try to keep a good distance from the coast of Colombia and its reputable bad acceleration zones. We hang on tight for a wild ride into Panama as we round Columbia and zoom down toward Colon for our planned Panama Canal transit.
@ Minute 13:33 to answer some frequent questions we give a general run-through of our @Hydrovane (self steering system) to explain how we use it when sailing offshore, how we adjust the course, balance the sails , the vane settings and also how we lock our helms.
