Total Eclipse in Mazatlán | Sailing Avocet
We sailed to Mazatlán, Mexico to experience the 2024 total solar eclipse with our sailing family, old pals, new pals, and Mazatlán in general! From dance parties on deck to late-night Banda music, ocean swims, beach days, and epic reunions, this passage reminded us why we fell in love with the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Mexico in the first place.
Mazatlán was directly in the path of totality, so we dropped the hook, prepped the cameras, and joined hundreds of others to witness one of the most breathtaking natural events on Earth — something we’ll never forget. Thank you, Charles and Nora, for making this party happen!
