If you follow us on other social media, you may have noticed that Chris and I jumped right back into boat projects; this time headfirst into a full interior refit. While we focus our time and energy on sanding, fiber glassing, and varnishing, Avocet has become basically unlivable so we have taken up temporary residence in Chris’s mom’s Mason 43′, Sea Castle, now conveniently docked right next door!
Sea Castle had previously been docked in the San Francisco Bay for 28 years but this July we sailed out of the Golden Gate and south towards a sea of new memories and warmer waters. With a capable crew and a boat built for fun, we made it safely to Ventura, 3 days and 425 nautical miles later. This video is a collection of the footage we took on the trip to commemorate the occasion. Mama Neely, this one is for you!
