EVERY MILE a MEMORY - Exploring St. Martin | SailAway 271
Embark on an unforgettable journey to the picturesque island of St. Martin with SailAway as they celebrate River’s birthday in their latest episode!
SailAway is back with a new adventure exploring every inch of this Caribbean paradise, filled with laughter, excitement and beautiful memories.
Maho Beach – The Perfect Birthday Venue
The crew kicks off the birthday festivities at Maho Beach, located at the end of the main runway of Princess Juliana International Airport. It’s no secret that this location has become one of River’s favorite spots in the entire world! As planes fly low and close to the shoreline, both kids and adults can have a blast letting their children run free while they enjoy some well-deserved downtime.
The Hunt for Donuts
As the party continued two days after River’s birthday, the crew decides to embark on a quest to find donuts! After visiting several bakeries on both sides of St. Martin, they stumbled upon one that offered pan de Shoco. Much to their surprise, this local pastry proved to be the perfect substitute for the much-loved donut.
Exploring Philipsburg
In order to experience a different side of St. Martin, the group rents a car for two days. They take a stroll through Philipsburg, a town that’s steeped in history dating back to 1633 when it was first settled by the Dutch.
The Nighttime Trail Run
River insists that one of his favorite spots in St. Martin is the 9km nighttime trail run. Despite initial doubts, Lauren decided to take on this challenge alongside River, facing not only the physically demanding course but also dealing with unexpected obstacles such as a lack of headlamps and having their progress recorded by an enthusiastic cameraman.
A Relaxing Day at Orient Beach
The final event for River’s birthday celebrations took place at Kid Zone on Orient Beach. This spot has been on their radar since River’s first visit three years ago, and it certainly did not disappoint.
So there you have it – an incredible adventure filled with laughter, fun and a plethora of unforgettable memories that make St. Martin truly magical for the entire SailAway crew!
