BAHAMAS LOCKDOWN! Setting SAIL for the USVI with NO PLACE LEFT TO GO!!
This week, as the lockdown in the Bahamas becomes downright oppressive – virtually unable to leave the boat for any amount of time – we decide the time is eventually coming when all foreigners will be kicked out Bahamian waters. With nowhere else to go we decide to try Puerto Rico…only to find out at the last second that they too aren’t welcoming any sailors – EVEN US CITIZENS! So with no options left, we head to St. Thomas, USVI after receiving word from cruiser friends already there that we should be able to check in. With fingers crossed we embark on a 700 mile ocean sail to Charlotte Amalie hoping that nothing changes while we’re en route and out of touch with civilization. Enjoy!!
