Hello everyone, it’s been a while, but we’re finally sailing again! In this exciting episode of Sailing Vessel Swizzle, Episode 19, we take you along our journey to the awe-inspiring Similan Islands.
Sailing to the Similan Islands
We set off from Phuket with a good friend who also owns an HR Grai, ready for some fun in the sun. This was our first time sailing without a company, and the anticipation was palpable. With the sails up and the wind at our backs, we embarked on an adventure to remember.
Sailing and Diving in the Similan Islands
After a night’s rest at a cozy anchorage, we geared up for the excitement ahead. With no itinerary to follow, we set off towards the Similans to check in at the Marine office and pay our dues.
The Adventure Begins
We were given only 5 hours to make it to the check-in office, so we set off with determination and made our way to the Similan Islands. The anticipation of diving in these crystal-clear waters was electric.
A Diving Adventure
We took the dinghy to Elephant Head Rock, known for its exceptional diving spots. Along with our friend Ian and Rita, we embarked on a thrilling dive experience, encountering colorful marine life and vibrant coral reefs.
The Return Journey
After bidding farewell to the Similan Islands, we began our return journey to Phuket. Our trusty three-blade propeller served us well throughout this incredible adventure.
Sunset and Night Sailing
We enjoyed a spectacular sunset as we sailed back towards Phuket, with our wind generator powering the vessel along. The peaceful evening brought about reflection on this incredible adventure.
An Unforgettable Journey
This journey to the Similan Islands was nothing short of magical. From sailing under a starry night sky to diving among tropical marine life, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder.
