Thank you so much, guys! I was blown away by the response to the video where I announced I had finally sold the house. I'm busy packing and sorting out the last minute projects aboard the boat, but I wanted to take a minute to thank you. Your support means...
Looks like the insulation of the v-berth will turn out to be a nine part series. Yes, I'm close to being done! Yay! In this episode, I have the pleasure of sanding and applying the first couple of coats of varnish. I hope all of this work will pay off when...
The old mattress in the v-berth aboard Obelix is the original mattress from 1973... yup, it's 42 years old! It's worn out and not at all comfortable to sleep on. It's got to go before I move aboard the boat :)

I finally get to test fit the mahogany slats for the ceiling aboard Obelix! Yay! :) Looks pretty swanky if you ask me ;) And it'll keep me nice and warm once I move aboard the boat and finally become a full-time liveaboard :)
I share my initial thoughts about the MAS Epoxies products I received from blackbearboatingandleisure.com. In short: I'm impressed. I look forward to using the products from MAS Epoxies for more projects aboard my boat! And also to do some through testing ...
I managed to find a combination oven (microwave + convection) that is tiny enough to fit aboard my boat. As a liveaboard that is going to make a huge difference! Sure cooking my meals in such a tiny oven is going to take some getting use to but I'm sure it...
Up goes the insulation, down goes my courage after discovering it takes much longer than anticipated. Knowing that my v-berth will be much more comfortable this winter is what's keeping me going right now ;) The house still hasn't sold, but I should have a...
A couple of the bolts in my deck-hull joint have started leaking after 40+ years. Luckily cleaning and rebedding them is very easy! I use simple ethanol to dissolve the old butyl tape and rebed using new butyl tape. Good for another 40 years ;)

Painting the vertical "stringers". Things are starting to shape up! I have no doubt I'll be nice and toasty up in my v-berth this winter. Fingers crossed the house will sell soon so I can move aboard the boat!
I finally get to epoxy in the stringers in my v-berth. Soon I'll have a nice and comfortable v-berth to sleep in when I move aboard the boat. A little bit of insulation should go a long way in making life aboard more comfortable this coming winter. A big t...
This video was shot Sunday morning (before getting to the "real" work I had planned that day). I wanted to hold off on using power tools until nobody in the marina was at sleep anymore. The video gives a quick glimpse into some upcoming projects/tasks aboa...
Sanding sucks! I finish sanding the inside of the hull in preparation for putting up stringers and wooden slats (called ceiling aboard a boat). Thanks to the awesome comments on my previous video I've learned that pine is not the best species of wood for t...
I want to add more insulation and also wooden slats in my V-berth. Once I move aboard the boat I want to be as comfortable as possible during the long cold winter. In this video, I remove strips of the old insulation to make room for the stringers I'll be ...
A quick update on some of the projects aboard. I do some prep work for the stuff I'll acturally be doing aboard the boat next weekend. And I get to enjoy cold water thanks to my Isotherm "convert your icebox into a fridge" kit.
TamTam sailing, blog: http:...
Sealing up the hole in my "fridge" after installing an Isotherm cooling system (Classic 2006). I can't wait till I get to test out the "fridge" on some delicious food. I'm now one step closer to being ready to move aboard!
I get to finally turn on my brand new Isotherm cooling system. Having a "fridge" aboard instead of just an icebox is going to make living aboard the boat so much more comfortable. With a bit of luck part 3 should be up tomorrow :)
Earlier today I started installing an Isotherm cooling system (Isotherm Classic 2006). The goal was to turn my icebox into a fridge. Turned out to be quite a long day. For now you'll only upload part 1 of 3. I really wanted to get something up tonight but ...
This is the method I used for insulating the hull aboard my sailboat (a 30 ft Albin Ballad from 1973). I'll use a different method in the v-berth, but this method seemed to work well last winter when I was living aboard. I spent a month aboard the boat dur...

I head up to check on Obelix for the first time after getting back from the US. In this video, I talk about the five projects/tasks I want to get out of the way before moving aboard the boat. The house still hasn't been sold but I'm so excited to become a ...
I go to pick up Jökull (my Icelandic Sheepdog) and talk briefly about what's coming up next on my little channel. I need to be able to move aboard the boat as soon as the house sells, so I need to focus on the projects aboard the boat. I would rather go s...
My last day in NYC. I ride the Staten Island Ferry to go see my friend Jorge. We go sailing on his southern cross 28 before I need to head for the airport. Awesome day! Thank you so much, Jorge!
