I was confident that our preparations were on point, this isn’t a video that I was going to publish before actually crossing!
Before we even knew how to sail, we thought about all the “what could go wrong” of ocean sailing (which I believe is what made the passage across the pond so intimidating).
What if we lose the watermaker? What if we lose communications? What if THE RUDDER FALLS OFF?? (*add dramatic tone*)
But we’re not *total* newbies anymore, and because we were open about those concerns early on, we were able to develop prevention strategies (which we share with you in this video).
We tried to keep it light, but we do address a few darker scenarios (sorry mom).
Our hope is that talking about what can go wrong and sharing some prevention strategies will help other sailors get mentally ready for their own passage!
