In the last 2 years my boat tried to sink twice! No one wants a sinking boat! In this video we tackle what is the most common cause of a sailboat sinking, through hull fittings! What can we do to repair our through hulls, what can be done to replace or even remove them?
Luckily each time my boat tried to sink, I was onboard and was able to prevent her from sinking!
The Through Hulls I am using are the Grocco Flange style with removable valve, and they are a flush mount through hull meaning there is no head protruding outside of the hull for better water flow over the hull. These through hulls are also good because the 3 bold backing flange has a stud to connect to your bonding system to help prevent corrosion easily without doing anything silly like using a hose clamp!
