We finally start our voyage south!
We were exhausted and exhilarated at the same time when October 1st came around and Bagheera was loaded onto a truck towards Plattsburgh.
We forgot to explain this in the video, but in case you’re wondering why every member of our little crew took a different route into the US from Canada, it’s because the border was still closed due to COVID travel restrictions. This made it impossible for us to sail Bagheera into the US, even with Amandine being a US citizen.
However, it did mean she was able to take the land border with Bonbon and most of our belongings. Tom took a flight as that was still a possible way for a non US citizen to cross the border. And Bagheera crossed the border “commercially” with a shipping company! Phew! We know… very complicated…
Once the crew was reunited, it was a bit of a race down Lake Champlain and through the 12 locks of the Champlain Canal to the Hudson River.
This is only the start of quite the adventure…

We're Tom, Amandine, and Bonbon. In October 2019, our lives were changed forever when we won a writing contest and were given a Morgan 32, Bagheera. Her previous owners, Paul and Maren, wanted her to be loved and to be sailed. So they decided not to sell the boat but to pick her next owners. They asked for just one thing in return, to keep them posted, once in a while, of our adventures. So... this channel is for them! Videos are the way we've chosen to share this adventure, but to us, it's like sending a postcard once in a while. Since last year, we've made Bagheera our home and are now sailing south with the goal of getting to Guadeloupe... for now! We’re avid windsurfers and surfers, recently wingfoilers, and hope to catch a bunch of waves along the way ! Hope you follow along on our epic adventure !
