In my latest video, I share an update on my upcoming journey from Hawaii to Japan aboard my boat. With meticulous planning, I’ve compiled a list of 27 essential tasks that must be completed before I can leave my vessel in Okinawa and rendezvous with my friends in Hawaii for the crossing. The serendipitous occurrences have been encouraging.
One of the most remarkable moments happened while searching for affordable flights to Hawaii. I was scanning the options and looking for the cheapest when I received an unexpected message notifying me that funds had been deposited into my account, covering my travel expenses. The identity of the sponsor, along with the names of the mystery couple and their boat ( and YouTube Channel) I’ll be joining, will be revealed soon
So, I’m set to fly to Hawaii on October 10th. I anticipate arriving around the same time as my friends, just as they complete their leg from California to Hawaii. Thanks for following along on this adventure that is already being filled with unexpected twists and remarkable experiences.

Hi, I`m Lowell, a 67-year-old rookie sailor, and a never-too-later! I preparing myself for the biggest challenge of my life: a solo journey across the North Pacific. I am a Canadian living in Japan, and in 2019, I purchased Wahine, a 1988 Gib Sea 402. I moved on board while she was moored in Tokyo. In March 2021, I terminated my contract with the Marina and have been cruising Japan full time since gaining valuable experience all the while working remotely from the boat.
