This Island Has Japan’s Longest-Living People! #japan #longevity #sailing #bluezone

I’m on Ama Island, in Shimane Prefecture—Japan’s true Blue Zone and the country’s top hotspot for longevity.
Why?
Because this prefecture has more centenarians per capita than anywhere else in Japan. That’s right—100+ and still going strong.
I came here thanks to fellow sailors and Never Too Late Academy members,Tyler, and Julia, who crossed the Pacific on their sailboat Ramona Rae and decided to settle right here.
Also reconnecting with Brian, who sailed with them part of the way. And I even met Shige, an 80-year-old barber who’s still cutting hair and chasing a world record!
More inspiring stories coming soon as I head to the next longevity hotspot.
