Dockside Rescue ( solo sailing )
July 31, 2021 by Pacific Solo | Language: EN Play Time: 00:12:03 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

Warning: this not the happiest of videos. One morning, following a gale the night before, I discovered a Grey Heron entangled in my backstay. Another Heron, likely its partner, watched from the treetops across the cove and sometimes circled overhead watching our rescue operation.
Herons are cherished birds in Japan and to see one is considered good luck. Many thanks to Oshima san and the team at Tanabe-Uchinoura Sea Station ( Umi no Eki) who took the rescue and aftercare of the heron seriously.
and also in this episode . . my border collie Skylie, makes an appearance and I get my second Pfizer shot after flying home for a few days ( 6000 yen and near-empty flight)
