We had an awesome 4 days out at Santa Cruz Island. Pelican Bay was beautiful, we got to see some family, some friends, and made some new friends along the way. This place has always been popular (for good reason), but people were telling us that back in the 70s, there would regularly be a huge number of boats anchored here, like 30 or so. I can imagine that many would fit, but wow… they must have been such friendly people to have tolerated that many people!

Our Lady Defiant
We live on our J-133, named Defiant, and sail along the California coast when we're bored of sailing in our home port of San Francisco Bay. We love to race, as well as cruise, so we bought a boat that does both, and we use it for both regularly! We also have a cat, named Whiskey, who we bring along with us for all the adventures.

On our trip back into the bay during the Lightship race, we clocked one surf up to about 17 knots. We had a great time coming back into the bay under kite!
