I’m Jack, and I have been a Dockmaster in San Diego for several years now and I have found that a Marina is a truly crazy and magical place. A melting pot, if you will, where the opportunity for excitement looms around every corner. Helicopters landing on MegaYachts. Surf spots only accessible by boat. Seagulls that kill. Homeless vagabonds. Boat owners gone mad. Endless free fish. Pirates. The search for the perfect burrito. And even an amazing love story. So I decided to get a camera and start recording. This is my life ON THE DOCKS, where I’ll be exploring every aspect of life at the marina, the surrounding San Diego area, and where ever else life takes me. Even if you aren’t a boater, don’t worry, there’s a little something for everybody ON THE DOCKS. Just remember, the Marina giveth, and the Marina taketh away........enjoy!

The sun finally peaked out down here in (recently overcast) San Diego, and what started as a routine surf trip to the The Cliffs, turned into one of he best days I’ve ever had with the sails up on my Catalina 30, Jacq Daniels. 10 knots of wind and glassy seas. Just another day on the docks…
