We Sailed for 3 Years to Get HERE [Making Our Way Ep 121]

After an unforgettable voyage spanning over three years, Mike and Taylor finally reached the mesmerizing Sand Blast Islands, a secluded archipelago situated off Panama’s northern coast. These islands have been on their cruising dreams’ radar ever since they set sail from Seattle.

The Journey

From the outset of their epic journey, Mike and Taylor have navigated 9,000 nautical miles in search of pristine locations. The pursuit of their dream destinations has led them through countless thrilling experiences, from encounters with Stormy weather to heart-pumping anchorages on sketchy beaches. It was during these trying moments that they questioned whether their destination would be worth all the hardship.

Reaching the Sand Blast Islands

Following months of enduring squalls and rainy season challenges, their persistence finally paid off as they arrived at Sand Blast Island’s shores. This remote archipelago encompasses 365 islands boasting an array of stunning visuals.

A Paradise Discovered

After such a demanding voyage, the pristine beauty and tranquility of the Sand Blast Islands felt like an unreal reward. The couple finally had time to unwind in their newfound paradise while reveling in their surroundings. Mike and Taylor found themselves surrounded by breathtaking sunsets and crystal-clear turquoise waters, inviting them to indulge in some much-needed relaxation.

Thrilling Snorkeling Adventures

Diving into the ocean for a snorkel session revealed thriving coral reefs teeming with vibrant marine life, offering an awe-inspiring underwater spectacle. It was evident that this island paradise not only boasts beautiful landscapes but also hosts a diverse and healthy underwater ecosystem.

Embracing Island Life

Moving forward, Mike and Taylor eagerly settled into their new surroundings. One notable aspect of the Sand Blast Islands is their limited access to supplies or amenities due to being in such a remote location.

To tackle this logistical challenge, they relied on local help. A Guna indigenous man offers online ordering and delivery service for essential goods from Panama’s mainland Costco equivalent. He would pick up the order, transport it to their isolated destination by boat – an invaluable aid in maintaining a comfortable lifestyle.

Fulfilling Tasks

While adapting to island life, tasks like laundry and restocking supplies occupied their time. To maintain their living quarters, they hand-washed sheets and towels using large buckets since there were no laundromats nearby.

A Slice of Heaven

Ultimately, the Sand Blast Islands exceeded all their expectations and made the arduous three-year voyage worthwhile. As they continue to explore their surroundings while making minimal environmental impact, Mike and Taylor cherish this idyllic location where dreams come true.

Embracing Life’s Opportunities

With the stunning backdrop of their paradise island, Mike and Taylor have realized they can achieve great things if they maintain determination. As life continues on this remote archipelago, opportunities to connect with nature abound while embracing the island’s indigenous culture.

A Future Ahead

While they don’t plan on leaving anytime soon, Mike and Taylor look forward to continuing their exploration of this breathtaking destination. They remain dedicated to preserving its beauty while cherishing every moment in paradise. Stay tuned for further episodes where they reveal more about life within the Sand Blast Islands, embracing the unique community living around them.
