This is, without a doubt, the most hectic moment we have ever experienced on Noeta.
As we prepared to guide our 57ft Nordhavn into the shipyard's narrow concrete well to be hauled out, the unimaginable happened: we lost an engine and all thruster control.
With 60 tons of fiberglass moving forward under its own momentum and initially zero way to maneuver, we watched got busy problem solving as we came within literal inches of crashing directly into the massive concrete walls.
In this episode, we are sharing the raw, unedited footage of the entire event. You will see the sheer chaos, feel the intense stress, hear some very "salty" language as we scrambled, and watch how we miraculously managed to claw our way back from a total catastrophe without hitting a single thing.
Once the adrenaline subsided, we sat down to do a full, honest debrief. We break down exactly what went wrong mechanically, how we recovered the boat in the final seconds, and the crucial changes we are making to our procedures to ensure this never, ever happens again.
In This Episode:
The Approach: Setting up for what should have been a standard haul-out.
Total Power Loss: The terrifying moment the engine died and the thrusters went offline.
Inches from Impact: Watching 60 tons of Nordhavn drift toward solid concrete.
The Save: How we recovered control at the absolute last second.
The Debrief: A transparent look at what failed and our lessons learned for the future.
