60 TONS OF NORDHAVN ON JACK STANDS: The First 72 Hours in the Shipyard!🛠️ Thru-hulls, Paint, & Chain

After surviving one of the most intense haul-outs of our lives, Noeta is officially on the hard! We are hitting the ground running in the shipyard with a packed schedule for the first three days of our major refit.

First up, we are tackling a job we've wanted to do for a long time: relocating our air conditioner system OFF the sea chest! We install a completely brand-new, dedicated thru-hull, strainer basket, and hoses so we never have to fight that sea chest setup again.

While we have the hull dry, the work doesn't stop:

Sea Chest Overhaul: Swapping out both sea chest thru-hulls.

Anchor Chain Mission: Dropping hundreds of feet of heavy anchor chain straight into the bed of a pickup truck so it can take the journey up to Guadalajara for professional re-galvanizing.

The Grind: 3 full, exhausting days of scraping old bottom paint down to prepare the hull.

Fixing Leaks & Transducer replacement Repairing a pesky water leak on our crash pump and starting the installation of our new transducer.

We couldn't do any of this without incredible help. We introduce you to the hard-working local crew and our great friend Chuy Zavala—a absolute legend and incredible asset in the Nordhavn community as a captain, crew member, and deckhand.

This is just the beginning of our yard period! Buckle up, because there are plenty more shipyard transformation videos on the way.

In This Episode:

3 Days of Bottom Paint: The dusty reality of hull prep.

The AC Upgrade: Installing a dedicated thru-hull, strainer, and lines.

Chain to Guadalajara: Loading up the anchor gear for re-galvanizing.

Crash Pump & Transducer: Fixing leaks and mounting new transducer.

Meet the Crew: Introducing Chuy Zavala and the shipyard team.
