Ep 389 | Back on a BOAT Again… and It Feels Amazing, European Vacation
We finally made the decision to bite the bullet and buy a boat. In the end we chose the second Duo 29 we’d seen — the one with the overseas history, international registration and a long list of positives.
Because we hadn’t planned on buying a boat, we arrived with nothing. And this time the boat had nothing, absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, every tool, every part, every bit of kit we own is sitting back in Australia, so we had to start from scratch. Our first big purchase for the new Little Nutshell was a new Peanut, which felt like a proper milestone. A new Nutshell, a new Peanut, a new adventure.
We gathered everything we’d left with Wendy’s mum, collected parcels from both her house and the marina and added a mountain of shopping on top. After two long drives back and forth, we finally arrived at the marina for good, took possession of the new Nutshell and started moving aboard with what felt like half of Europe in bags and boxes.
It’s a brilliant feeling being back on a boat again — our boat. We can’t wait to get going and start our European vacation by water instead of by road.
