Sailing Solo Again: Lauren Landers’ Epic Journey Through the Caribbean [Ep 116]

After getting to know the Virgin Islands and spending a good amount of time there, professional sailor Lauren Landers has a fantastic weather window to begin heading south and exploring more of the Caribbean islands. During this episode, she discusses her recent experiences and upcoming adventures while bidding farewell to friends who have parted ways with their own boats. Leaving for St. Kitts After spending a month and a half in the port of Charlotte, Lauren sets sail from there, covering about 130 miles that she anticipates taking around 19 to 24 hours. As nervous as she is about sailing solo after four months without a proper sail, she knows the boat is in excellent condition. Challenges Along the Way During her voyage, Lauren encounters some challenges due to unexpected changes in wind angle and heavy rainfall. Still, she continues pushing through, keeping her spirits up with good music, her beloved smoothies (which include Garden of Life vegan protein powder), and other essential boat maintenance tasks. The Beautiful Arrival at St. Kitts Finally, after four hours and 45 minutes, Lauren arrives in the stunning island of St. Kitts, where she plans to drop anchor and spend some time exploring the area. The Local Experience at St. Kitts In addition to admiring the natural beauty of St. Kitts, Lauren makes sure to clear into the island and finds it pleasantly quiet compared to her previous visits during cruise ship seasons. Final Thoughts As Lauren continues her journey through the Caribbean, viewers are reminded of the excitement, challenges, and pure joy found in solo sailing. Through this captivating story, we witness Lauren’s passion for the open waters and her commitment to making the most of each moment while exploring different destinations.
I'm finally sailing again!! Heading into a 24 hour sail to continue exploring the Caribbean islands!

Give a little extra support 💞 The circumnavigation is JUST beginning... all of your help goes towards more gear to make the videos a bit better and the boat safer and more functional for myself as a single hand (and maybe an extra treat for Mako)
