This is a story about the work beneath the dream. The part that doesn’t make headlines, but makes everything else possible. And the forces quietly at work to break it all apart. We laid the new Cromox anchor chain, shiny, solid, reassuring. Then cast off from Half Moon Bay, heading north. The wind was brisk.
Kawau Island gave us light air and a quiet anchorage. Marsden Cove promised a quick haul out,
just a clean hull before our trip to Australia. Or so we thought. No storms came. Nothing broke. At least, nothing we could see. Watch until the end to see what was waiting beneath the calm.

We’re a small family living aboard our catamaran, SV Wanderlust, sailing to Harbors Unknown. We hope to inspire people and showcase the possibility of living an alternative lifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment, all while keeping it real. Sharing the trials and tribulations of living off-grid, acknowledging the discomfort of detoxing from the modern world, finding pleasure in the subtleties of nature and joy in simplicity. Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin and Fabio Potenti, and our French Bulldog Yoda. We sold our home at the beginning of the pandemic (May 27th, 2020) and moved aboard our Seawind 1600 catamaran, SV Wanderlust, in September. We’re documenting boat life as live aboard sailors, sharing our learnings, sailing adventures, travel experiences and delicious meals cooked on board. We're sailing SV Wanderlust to Harbors Unknown, to explore the world’s vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere.
