Fishing and Free Diving for Lobster in South Florida | Harbors Unknown Ep. 16

Fabio headed out fishing with our friends Mino, Drew, Brittney, Juliet and Jordan. They were hoping to catch swordfish and mahi mahi. They landed quite a few mahi but the swordfish were elusive that day. Though, swordfishing is a sport of skill and odds. Two days later Mino + Drew caught a huge swordfish!

A few days later we met Mino and his friend Willy out on the water and went free diving for spiny lobster. Mino + Willy were successful but we came up empty handed. Oh well, that’s what happens to beginners. At least we have friends who can catch fish + lobster!

That night we made a delicious lobster ceviche. It was the perfect ending to an amazing weekend!

If you’re new here, we are Kristin + Fabio Potenti and we moved aboard our #Seawind1600 #catamaran Wanderlust with our French Bulldog Yoda on Labor Day. We didn’t move far, really, we moved onto our boat across the canal from the home we sold at the end of May, mid-Pandemic.

We’re a couple of dreamers, with a longing to explore the world’s natural wonders, food and cultures. To live by the wind, current and the sun. We’re looking for adventure and freedom in Harbors Unknown, planning to eventually #sailaroundtheworld, but for now, we’re starting in our own backyard.
