In this episode of Good Deeds Sailing, we set off on Rod and Brenda’s Westerly boat in sunny Florida for an adventure filled with sun, sea, and surprises.
We sailed to Peanut Island, which is home to the Kennedy Bunker, an abandoned Coast Guard Station that was built for John F. Kennedy’s protection during his presidential campaign in case of a nuclear attack on the United States.
We discovered a boat that had been on the ocean floor for some time. With the help of some temporary fixes, we managed to refloat it and continue our journey without any significant damage.
During our expedition, we also showcased the process of installing a solar arch. After some diligent work, including the removal of old gel coat and meticulous fitting, the job was well done, leaving us with a solid and attractive structure that should last for years to come.
The highlight of our trip occurred when we had an encounter with the wind, which took hold of the boat like never before. It was quite an experience and a memorable one.
If you’re fascinated by this tale of adventure, consider joining us on our next sailing trip where we’ll venture out to even more incredible destinations, such as the Bahamas, Key West, and Puerto Rico. Together with Good Deeds Sailing, let’s create unforgettable memories on the sea.
