I’m Garrett, at 17 years old I decided I didn’t want to take the standard college route so I made the spontaneous decision to buy a sailboat with money I worked for and set out to sail around the world. Right now I am sailing around the Hawaiian Islands and preparing my boat, a Nor’sea 27, as well as myself for a big passage to French Polynesia when hurricane season comes to an end.

In this video I make my first solo overnight passage ever on my boat from Oahu to Kauai. I also sail down the Napali coast but am forced to leave due to the biggest south swell in a long time hitting Hawaii.
