We want to be fully self sufficient some day, at least as much as you can be. A watermaker will enable us to take showers, wash dishes, drink and prepare food and even wash our clothes, eventually.
Getting water while cruising is possible by hauling jugs and cans, but the more remote you get the more difficult it becomes. Our next big stop is the Bahamas and there are something like 700 uninhabited islands which means a lot of islands to ourselves and no access to water. Having a watermaker will increase the time we can stay “out there”
