Day 15 crossing the Atlantic.
After weeks of rough seas, today finally felt calm. The sun came out, laundry got done, real food got eaten, and for the first time in a while it felt like life at sea was… normal.
Then everything stopped.
A sudden medical scare forced us to confront a reality you don’t really think about until you’re living it — being hundreds of miles from land, with no hospital, no helicopter, and very limited options if something goes seriously wrong. For a few hours, we didn’t know if this was just pain… or something life-threatening.
In this episode we talk honestly about what happened, what we were watching for, what we would have had to do if it had been worse, and how fragile things can feel when you’re this far from help. We also walk through the redundancy systems on board, why we take backup power seriously, and how preparation only goes so far.
Nothing dramatic was staged. This was real life, unfolding in real time, in the middle of the ocean.
We’re okay. The boat is okay. And the passage continues.
Thanks for being here with us 🤍
