BankManager Gen3 Features
In this video, Clark introduces the latest BankManager Gen3 hybrid battery system. The new model boasts a series of upgraded features to offer advanced performance for your off-grid solar and marine systems.
Introduction to BankManager Gen3
The BankManager Gen3 is an improved version of the popular Generation 2 system. Over six months, Clark has developed new features that address user requests and make this hybrid battery management tool more effective than ever.
New Case Options
The Gen3 model is available in several different case choices to suit various preferences. You can choose from a black plastic case or opt for more expensive, high-quality options like the $340 piece.
Improved Design and Features
In addition to its modern appearance with a larger display, adjustable brightness, and a power switch, the Gen3 includes several key upgrades:
- t
- Bluetooth Connectivity: This model features a Bluetooth radio that transmits real-time data on the system’s performance. While there is no app available at the moment, users can utilize a terminal emulator to access raw data and monitor battery health. t
- Data Logging: The Gen3 allows for data logging with customizable sampling rates (up to 20,500 data points), enabling users to track battery performance over time or investigate specific issues in real-time. t
- Battery Temperature Monitoring: This new feature includes an integrated thermostat that allows the BankManager to monitor and control battery temperature. If the temperature drops below a user-defined threshold, the system will disconnect the lithium bank until the temperature rises by five degrees Fahrenheit. Users can integrate this feature with wiring appropriate for their setup. t
- Voltage Regulation: The Gen3 includes a new feature that actively lowers lithium battery voltage after charging. This feature helps maintain optimal cathode chemistry and prolongs overall battery life, drawing just 0.3% of the battery capacity for this purpose.
Different Pin Options
Aside from Bluetooth connectivity, data logging, temperature monitoring, and voltage regulation, the BankManager Gen3 features various pin options for additional control:
- t
- Power Regulation Pin: Allows users to limit the amount of power their lithium battery can handle. This can help prevent overcharging and extend battery life. t
- Lithium Battery Discharge Limit Pin: Enables users to set a maximum current limit, ensuring the battery remains within safe operating parameters during charging. t
- Voltage Regulation Pin: Controls lithium battery voltage by activating an external load when the charge is complete. This feature helps bring the voltage down to optimal levels more quickly and safely.
Purchase Information
Clark has worked hard to refine the BankManager Gen3 and make it available for purchase. The upgraded model offers a comprehensive battery management solution that includes Bluetooth connectivity, advanced data logging options, temperature monitoring, and voltage regulation.
Conclusion
The BankManager Gen3 is an essential tool for anyone looking to optimize their off-grid solar or marine systems. With its array of cutting-edge features, this hybrid battery management system is the perfect solution for ensuring maximum efficiency and safety in your power storage.
