Clark was away from the boat and we got heavy rain with sudden wind gusts over 35 knots. I heard a loud crash up on deck. Our wind generator was going crazy and the giant awning had ripped apart. Its canvas and 10-foot aluminum poles were bashing around the rigging overhead. I rushed up on deck to control the wind generator, which was the biggest hazard. Then I had to figure out how to secure the awning as it threatened to crash into our radar and solar panel.
