$300 DIY Dive HOOKAH + Cleaning Our Boat's Bottom!!

update.
We had a viewer say there is now a sticker on the compressor that says breathing hazard. So take that into consideration, you might not want to do this.

Here’s another money-saving boat life tip! Today, we clean the bottom of the boat. Depending on the environment we’re in, we have to do this every few months, or every couple of years. Rather than hauling the boat out, or paying someone else to do the cleaning, we do it all ourselves with a homemade hookah, a.k.a. Surface-Supplied Air (SSA) device that we built for less than $300.

In this video, Clark explains the equipment and components we use to make our own hookah, we show you some underwater footage of us scraping and scrubbing Temptress’ bottom, and after it’s clean, we set a new motoring speed record!

To those people who say this unit should have a second filter after the compressor. Add a filter. Its not a bad idea. Please don’t think I’m saying you are wrong wanting to filter your breathing air. I’m just asking what you are filtering out specifically?? But a filter is cheap and won’t hurt anything, my advice to anyone is to add one.
