All New Dreamtime Sailing Adventures – Where Are We Going? - S5 Episode 110
In our first 179 days in Indonesia we have sailed two and half thousand nautical miles or four thousand seven hundred kilometres around this amazing nation of islands. We’ve had more than enough breath taking experiences to know we want to spend a lot more time exploring this incredible country.
So what now?
With shining new 6 month Indonesian visas in our passports, we are venturing away from more well travelled cruising destinations to sail into a remote, far less visited area of this amazing country to circumnavigate the world’s sixth largest island – Sulawesi.
Not only is Sulawesi the home of the Bugis people famous for their traditional timber boat building, but also other sea farers including the fascinating Bajo sea gypsies living in villages over the water.
In the high mountain ranges we’ll find other unique cultural lifestyles and the amazing death rituals of Tana Toraja. There’s over four thousand seven hundred nautical miles of coastline for us to discover and many, many stunning offshore islands groups waiting to be explored
