Trans-Atlantic Sailing Voyage (#2). Preparing for the passage. Ep104
January 04, 2018 by Cruising Off Duty | Language: EN Play Time: 00:15:46 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, I show you my first full day in Las Palmas in the Spanish Islands of Gran Canaria. This is the main island that most Sailors who are planning to cross the Atlantic (from East to West) stop at to provision and get prepared before they make the big jump.
I will show you Las Palmas from walking around as well as give you some great drone footage of what the Las Palmas Harbor looks like from the air. With the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) leaving around the same time as we are, the harbor was packed with boats and even the Anchorage outside the protected harbor was packed with boats.
We show you just how much work it is to shop for and pack a boat full of enough food and provisions to allow 6 people to live (quite comfortably) for 3 weeks on a Catamaran.
Hopefully, you enjoy the episode. If so please share the link on Facebook and other social media to help get the video out to anyone who is considering doing a Trans-Atlantic passage.
Thanks,
Craig
Special thanks to Paul Shard for the ending footage of the boat under sail
