In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, we will be sailing through the 100 Islands area of the St Lawrence River to the white sand beaches of Potter’s Beach on Grindstone Island.
We get a get a surprise morning wake up knock by the US Customs and Border patrol boat who wanted to ensure we checked into the USA. We also had a short-term drama when we dropped out Outboard motor gas cap into the water and after swimming around for a while (with no flippers or mask) I was able to find it and swim down 15′ to retrieve it. Lucky to get that back.
We explore a nature trail on the Island and walk on the soft sand beach and wonder, “Why didn’t we know about this beach before?”
