Guided Tour and Review: Majestic 530 (2019). New hull shape coming with a higher price tag
We took a guided tour of the Majestic 530 Catamaran at this year’s Annapolis Sailboat Show. We have always liked this boat but since it is the most customizable boat we have seen on the market, and the new owner can order it in all sorts of layouts and trims, we have found that some years we absolutely love it and other years (like last years) we borderline, didn’t like it at all. Let’s see how this year’s model holds up. Plus we finally get photos and the new price for the new shape models that are already in production and should be at future boat shows.
Could this be our future boat to cruise the world? Well, yes! As long as we could find a used one at a decent price. The new higher $1.2m price tag on the new models being produced now, is a not so tiny bit above our budget. But a gently used one with the right layout and colour interior is something we would seriously consider for our future home.

Welcome to Cruising Off Duty. We are Craig and Janice. We love travelling and we love sailing, so we figure the best way to see the world is by sailboat. We presently have a 35' Beneteau Oceanis sloop that we sail out of Kingston, Ontario Canada, which is on Lake Ontario. We have a longer term plan, when we retire in a few years, to sell everything and buy a 40-50' Catamaran and circumnavigate the globe. Craig loves photography along with land based and drone videography and plans to document everything along our travels to share with the world through Youtube and other social media. For now, follow our channel as we show you the beauty of the Great Lakes and the 1000 Islands area of the St Lawrence River. You will also see the steps we take as start narrowing down the Catamaran we think will suit us best as we move closer to our goal of living full time on a sailboat and exploring the world. It should be a journey worth watching.
