In this 4th episode of the Exploring Lake Ontario Series, we leave Pickering and head to Toronto to meet up with our son and his friends to celebrate Canada Day. We had booked a Marina for 2 nights because we thought being Canada’s largest city it would be impossible to find an anchorage but nothing could have been further from the truth. There are plenty of free anchorages all around the Toronto Island area that will protect you from the wind and waves of Lake Ontario.
Toronto was certainly the highlight of our trip and there was so much to do see and explore and that was during the 2020 summer of Covid. Had it not been the summer of Covid with many restaurants and businesses being closed then Toronto would have had almost limitless activities that could keep you busy for weeks if you chose to boat here.
It was well worth the trip to get here and we will definitely be back.
