Editing with an iMac Pro on a Sailboat? Do I have enough solar power for that? New COD App! Ep136
July 19, 2018 by Cruising Off Duty | Language: EN Play Time: 00:18:32 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

I spend a lot of time editing the Cruising Off Duty episodes, but when I got my iMac Pro it helped speed up a really long process. Often I spend 8+ hrs editing each episode. If a faster computer could shave off an hour or 2 off each project and took down my frustration level with my previous computer (MacBook Pro 13″) then the price of the iMac Pro was worth it.
My concern is when I spend weeks at a time on my sailboat when I am on vacation (or in the future when I live full time on a sailboat) will the solar panels give me enough juice to allow me to edit with this big powerful workhorse of a computer or will I be resigned to editing with the slow laptop again?
This episode I bring my iMac Pro to the boat and test how the solar panels and the batteries can handle the draw when it is Sunny, Cloudy and Raining.
If you plan to edit photos and videos and you also plan to be off the grid, where solar panels might be your only source of electricity, this episode is probably going to be interesting to you.
If you know someone that may enjoy seeing this test, please share the video link.
Also at the end of the video, I will show you that Cruising Off Duty now has a Free App that you can download for iOS and Android App Stores. From the App, you can access our Facebook page, our Youtube channel, our Website and send us emails as well as get notifications as to where we are and what we are up to.
In this modern day, most people are consuming their content on mobile phones and tablets and the App will be a one-stop shop to help you consume the content wherever you are.
