Annapolis Sailboat Show. Drinks with friends. Why we were stopped and searched at the US border.

Ep91. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, we are wrapping up Day 1 of the show, which had us doing a marathon session of comparing all the Catamarans built by Fountaine Pajot, Lagoon and Leopard.
We show you 1 more Catamaran, which didn’t really meet our criteria of being a possible future liveaboard home for us. This behemoth is the 58′ (some say 60′) Fountaine Pajot Ipanema. It is big, it is beautiful but it is way too big for a couple to consider as a liveaboard boat. This is the type of boat you buy to put into Charter and then have access to spend up to 20 weeks a year vacationing on a boat you own.
This boat is way out of the price range of 95% of the people out there but with putting it in Charter the boat may pay it’s own mortgage and let you party on it from time to time for free.
The previous day we had driven from Ottawa and what should have been a 9hr drive took 13. We will tell you all about that and how we were pulled over at the US border and our car was searched. You won’t believe what reason they had for the search.
Although we were dead tired at the end of a marathon session yesterday of driving followed by a marathon session today of filming boats, the Painkillers (it’s a rum drink at the bar) with many new friends made the evening fun and gave us new energy to come back and do the show all over again tomorrow.
In the upcoming episodes we start covering all more custom boat builders and there are a lot of good things to say about these boats, so hopefully you tune in to see that.
We hope you enjoyed this episode. If so give it a thumbs up and hit subscribe if you want to keep up with the channel’s upcoming episodes.
Feel free to leave questions in the comments if there is something you were wondering about on any of the boats we show you. We read every comment and we respond to almost every question.
