Yes, we're on our way for a 30.000 miles adventure sailing around the world.
In the first leg we will sail to the center of Seville, with stops on the Baleares, Gibraltar and Cadiz
In the second segment of the first leg sailing around the world we visit the north coast of Mallorca, have some first arguments with our genset and gennaker and make a barrel roll with the Mavic 2 Zoom
Next stop after Mallorca is Ibiza. Close haul from Mallorca to the NE corner of Ibiza and then clockwise via Santa Eularia to Formentera with enough wind for a decent sail.

It's already getting busy in Gibraltar with GLYWO boats on their way to Cadiz. Tina and I leave around noon, maybe still a bit early for the current but it should be fine later on. Let's see whether we manage to fly our A2 straight through the Strait passe...
The Outremer After-sales service team flies in to fix the final issues before the crossing while we prepare the boat, check the rig, provision and visit the highest mountain in Spain.
On November 20th we left for Barbados with a potential stop in Cabo Ver...
Now the bigger crossings are starting. We have a nice build up with first the 650 miles from Sevilla to the Canaries, now the 850 miles to Cabo Verde and next the 2.100 miles to Barbados.
Difficult weather patterns but still surprisingly good sailing time...
After stoppping for 2 days in Mindelo, Cabo Verde, we continue towards Barbados. The forecast looks great. Following the great circle course we shouldn't sail for a lot more than 2050 miles.
Dead downwind behind our heavy cloth polyester spi towards Barbados. Cape Verde to Mindelo in 9 days and a couple of hours, mostly just along the great circle line.
After crossing the Atlantic Ocean via Cabo Verde we lounge and relax around the boat anchored in Carlisle Bay / Bridgetown. Nice wrecks to snorkel, and trying to get in balance on the wing and E-foil.
After spending Christmas in Outremer Bay with Spekeend, Bombarda and Surya we split up again and sail together with Surya to Josephine's bath on the windward coast of the island.
We have to stay in Martinique at least until the 4th of January as a guy is flying in to double check something on the boat. No worries as there are several interesting little bays around the island and we celebrate New Year's Eve together with Surya in Le...
Marijke flies home for a week and Thomas from Outremer 5X Surya joins Mark to sail around Martinique. Thomas will also join us on the crossing from the Galapagos to the Marquesas so it should be a good opportunity to get to know the boat.
In Saint Pierre professional photographer Robin Christol joins us on board and we take him along around Martinique. Lots of sailing in this episode with stops in La Trinité and le Baie du Trésor
We continue our tour around the island until Marijke arrives in St. Anne after flying back from Holland. We join the rest of the World Odyssey fleet in marina Le Marin to prepare for the next crossing to Panama.
After a little start regatta we join a group of 9 Outremers on a trip to Los Roques, an archipelago of Venezuelean islands where only a few yachts set sail to nowadays.
Just before the start the Outremer 55 was announced as the winner in bluewater cruisi...
Thanks to Vitia taking us along we visit the northerly Venezuelean islands of Los Roques, a turquoise paradise 70 miles out of the coast of the South American mainland
From Los Roques Venezuela we sail to the nice and cosy Dutch island of Bonaire. We really like it there, we meet our sailing buddies of Eight, run into old partners from a previous life and are having fun with Spekeend and Inky Blue.
And then things are go...
Our favourite pirate James comes over to the damaged Greatcircle record a podcast resulting in a "make a lot of noise to forget your sorrows" session where Marijke finally gets to use her guitar again.
Stuck on Aruba we try to make the best of it while trying to find a solution to repair the boat and, if possible, continue our world tour with the Grand Large World Odyssey.
The Outremer technical team has arrived on Aruba and all the new parts are flown in in an unbelievable attempt to enable us to catch up with the rest of the fleet again.
We managed to catched to catch up with the rest of the GLYWO fleet just before the departure to the Marquesas. No time to visit the islands, so let's look back at our earlier stay in 2013.
Yes! We're going to make it and catch up with the rest of the fleet. Will we even get to the Galapagos before their planned departure for the Marquesas?
At least in miles it was …
3028 miles or over 5600 kilometers of nothing but ocean. That's the amount of water you have to cross to get to the Marquesas, our next stop after the Galapagos. Thomas is still borrowed from Surya and we're so extremely happy...
After exploring Nuku Hiva we sail to the next island Ua Pou with its remarkable peaks. The whole bay seems completely full of Outremers with Inky, Jams, Endless, Ningyo, Vitia, Akaroa and PiedraLibre all next to each other on a stern anchor
