Preparing for the Final Stretch
The team was in for an epic adventure during this last portion of their ocean voyage. With waves up to 8 ft high, Ian and Bill had to navigate through rough seas under a steady wind of 25-30 knots. The sailors decided to make a temporary repair to the damaged whisker pole, using a snatch block with a swivel attached to ensure smooth function.Emotions Run High
As they approached land, the duo experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Tension and anticipation built up over the long passage finally culminated in a sense of immense relief. While Bill felt nervous about their ability to complete the journey successfully, Ian maintained his optimistic outlook.Thrilling Landfall
Their harrowing journey culminated in a spectacular landfall. The sailors reveled in the beautiful blue waters, spotting small white birds flying over and even observing goats onshore. After turning off the engine, Ian fried up some bacon for a celebratory meal to refuel.Meeting Fellow Sailors
Upon arriving at their destination, they encountered friends from another boat who had also set off with them on this ocean adventure. The sailors shared stories and exchanged news about the completion of each leg of their journeys.Looking Forward to New Adventures
