There’s a lot of unknowns in our this lifestyle, most of them inconsequential but some potentially resulting in breakage or worse. The longer we cruise the more conservative we’ve become overall. But when we’re keen to explore we will take measured risks because otherwise what’s the point of what we’re doing?
Even though we REALLY wanted to get up this magical river in search of the elusive Tapir, we also really didn’t want to potentially flip the dinghy, get wet, or worse. Over time Bill and I have really gotten into synch when it comes to making decisions. We each have a different risk threshold but we take time to hash out and hear each others’ view points before making a final decision. We were several miles from Calico Skies with no cell service so overall not the best time to flip a dinghy LOL.
