When you take big jumps offshore as opposed to a couple of nights here and there, overall travel time is reduced but preparing for the passage takes longer. To prepare for our planned 10 – 12 day sail north we’ll need to provision, get fuel, prepare meals, check the rig, research immigration policy for our next destination, and stow the deck. Plus there’s the weather to consider! In this episode we discuss how we use the program Predict Wind and the types of factors we consider when planning such a long journey.
