Ive waited a long time for this..dropping the hook in the PACIFIC for the 1st time (CSS Ep. 140)

The last part of our passage to Isla Parida was super light and we had to motor some but we did manage to eek out some sailing. We experienced our first battery shutdown due to overheating which began the process of installing a blower for our batteries. Regardless, it was a fantastic passage overall and dropping the hook in pretty Isla Parida was a wonderful feeling.

There is something so thrilling about experiencing a new ocean . . it’s hard to explain. Each step of the process has been memorable beginning with entering the ocean via the Panama Canal, Sailing in the Ocean, Swimming in the Ocean and later, more recently, Snorkeling in the Ocean and exploring it’s underwater world.

Our passage to Costa Rica started out beautifully with a gorgeous sunrise. Nature really put on a show which added to the thrill of embarking on a journey to a new country. The passage that followed was pleasant and using the blower worked extremely well, preventing the batteries from overheating.

We love sailing in light wind because Calico Skies is set up well for it and really moves in a light breeze. Using our Spinnaker always makes us happy!
